All kinds of things are happening on campus during this busy but productive season, President Armacost says

To start this week’s video address, UND President Andy Armacost congratulates everyone in the UND community who made Homecoming 2022 a success.

“And Holy Moly, has there been a lot happening on our campus!” the president continues.

For example, this coming weekend marks Family Weekend, while at the beginning of the month, UND hosted its first-ever diversity, equity and inclusion conference. The event drew 400 people from across the region to talk about some of the most important issues facing higher education.

Armacost also mentions the annual UAS Summit in Grand Forks that recently took place. The event provides a platform for UND to talk with industry and government leaders about the future of uncrewed aircraft and drones.

Last week, the draft UND Strategic Plan was unveiled at a campuswide Town Hall event, the president notes. Armacost encourages everyone to review the document and provide feedback before the Thursday, Oct. 20 survey deadline.

He also draws attention to the recent celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day on campus. As UND works through its repatriation effort, it’s important to keep in mind the wide variety of efforts that are needed to support the Native American community, Armacost notes.
