The University of North Dakota Department of Theatre Arts will present “Carrie: The Musical,” based on “Carrie,” the popular, cult classic 1976 horror film, Nov. 10-12 and 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Burtness Theatre.

In this musical rendition of “Carrie,” the story is told through the lens of high school student Sue Snell, a witness to Carrie’s iconic prom night massacre. As she describes the moments leading up to the school’s destruction to the upper echelon of school authorities, students appear as if they are memories, and the story unfolds.

A variety of students are introduced, including Sue, her boyfriend Tommy, her best friend, Chris and her boyfriend Billy who plot the ultimate humiliation of socially stunted Carrie White. Little do they know, beyond being religiously traumatized by her overbearing mother, Carrie is telekinetically gifted. Horror fans rejoice: “Carrie” is a wild, rock n’ roll ride of good versus evil, and devastatingly gory revenge.
