VIDEO: Creating community and belonging on campus

In his first video message of 2023, President Armacost offers best wishes, invites campus to two marquee events this month

It’s 2023! President Armacost wishes everyone a safe return to campus after the holiday break in his first video address of the calendar year.

He also welcomes all new students, faculty and staff as the spring semester gets underway this week. New to UND or not, we should always be ready to say “hello,” introduce ourselves and create a strong sense of community on campus, he says.

Two events are coming up that have significant ties to UND’s aspirations for community and belonging.

The first is UND’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration happening at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Join the University in celebrating Dr. King’s legacy and all that he accomplished and contributed to society, Armacost says.

And on Friday, Jan. 20, the University is launching its newest Strategic Plan, UND LEADS. The event starts at 1 p.m., also in the Memorial Union. “It’s going to be an exciting discussion about the future direction of campus,” according to Armacost.

He then wishes everyone the best of luck in the coming semester, as well as for everyone to give their best in making 2023 resolutions come true.
