Search committee named for College of Education & Human Development dean

New dean expected to be named in January

UND School of Law Dean Brian Pappas will chair a national search for the next dean of the College of Education & Human Development.

The announcement was made by Eric Link, UND provost and vice president for academic affairs. He expects to name the new dean by Jan. 1 or soon thereafter.

Cindy Juntunen has served as dean of the college since 2016.

“I would like to extend my profound thanks to Dean Pappas for his leadership and willingness to chair this important search, and to all the members of the committee whose unique perspectives will be vital in identifying strong candidates,” Link said. “We will work throughout the process to ensure stakeholder groups have opportunities to provide feedback. I look forward to working with everyone involved as we select the next dean of the College of Education & Human Development at UND.”

The committee charge includes conducting the search and submitting a recommendation to the provost for consideration. The committee will ensure that all stakeholder groups have the opportunity to participate in the process and/or provide feedback on the finalists. The committee will be assisted by the executive search firm Academic Search in the process.
