VIDEO: What makes us #UNDProud

President Armacost talks about graduation, new student orientation, and UND pride in this week’s video message

Today’s video message is a “touch-base at the mid-point of summer” with President Andrew Armacost.

More than 1,500 new students have recently been on campus for orientation activities, and even more have visited as parents and family members of those new students, Armacost says.

The president offers his thanks to the Division of Student Affairs and everyone at UND who helped make student orientation a success. “All of these activities make us UND Proud,” he says, looking to a backdrop of UND colors and the hashtag phrase.

Summer Commencement is just around the corner; the ceremony will start at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, in the Chester Fritz Auditorium. More than 500 students are eligible to graduate, and the guest speaker will be Susan Ellis-Felege, a wildlife ecologist, conservationist and professor of biology at UND.

Armacost then bids farewell to someone who has been close and crucial to his first three years at the University’s helm. Christine Naas, events coordinator and administrative specialist for the Office of the President, has served UND for 39 years across multiple roles. She retires in early August.

Armacost thanks her for all she has done to positively impact many at UND, including students, staff, faculty and alumni.
