Editor’s note: On Wednesday, Jan. 24, UND held a Town Hall meeting via Zoom for students and their families. A video of the Town Hall is above, while below is a list of the questions that are asked and answered in the video, with time stamps for readers’ reference accompanying each question.

The following questions are asked and answered in the Student & Family Town Hall:

6:30: What kinds of services does UND have available to help students struggling with stress or other mental-health issues?

9:36: How is seeking counseling/mental health services handled with the Aviation/commercial pilot students? Is there a risk in seeking help their flight school time is put on hold?

11:50: Many students are raising questions about artificial intelligence and certainly see it as a tool to use in the classroom. Can you talk about any policies that might be modified to either increase or limit AI usage?

17:29: A question about the UND Wellness Center. Does the Center have any plans for facility updates, and if so, what might those plans be?

22:40: What is the University doing in the realm of parking? Any updates or priorities for the year to come?

26:38: I would like to hear updates about the status of scholarship and teaching at UND. I would also like to know whether there are any specific challenges at this point that the university faces in order to fulfill its mission. I am particularly interested in the Odegard School of Aviation Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences. Thanks!

37:27: What is the Experiential Learning Center, and what are a few upcoming events for students?

43:08: Can you explain upcoming housing deadlines and what current students need to complete if they’re planning to live in the residence halls next fall?

45:52: Can you explain the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA form, and what people might need to know about it, both for our incoming new students as well as our returning students?

49:30- Do you want to highlight some of the library’s newer services and things that people may be surprised to hear are happening at a university library?
