VIDEO: Events abound at UND

In latest video address, President Armacost covers several events happening on campus in March

President Andrew Armacost welcomes the campus community back from Spring Break to start this week’s video message.

In February, several events were hosted on campus in recognition of Black History Month, Armacost says, and UND Today published a feature story about Horace Johnson, a 1939 graduate and star athlete of UND who went on to become a Tuskegee Airman during World War II. Armacost calls the article to readers’ attention and salutes its writer, Janelle Vonasek, special projects editor of UND Today.

And with March well underway, Armacost names some events to pay attention to in honor of Women’s History Month.

The UND School of Law is once again hosting a Helen Hamilton Day Symposium on Friday, March 15, named for the first female graduate of the School of Law. The University Council for Women+ is hosting a celebratory breakfast on Friday, March 22, including a panel discussion on UND research impacting women.

UND’s 55th Annual Writers Conference kicks off next week, Wednesday, March 20, with a full slate of presentations, panels and readings hosted by nationally recognized authors, poets and artists.

On Saturday, March 23, the 62nd Annual Feast of Nations, hosted at the Alerus Center, promises a “Kaleidoscope of Cultures” for this year’s celebration of international cultures and cuisines.

Keep up with these events and others through the UND Events Calendar.
