VIDEO: Catching up with Dr. Marjorie Jenkins
New School of Medicine & Health Sciences dean talks about first months on the job and impressions of UND
President Andrew Armacost sits for a chat with Dr. Marjorie Jenkins, vice president for Health Affairs and dean of the School of Medicine & Health Sciences, for this week’s video message.
Now that Jenkins has had six months at the helm of North Dakota’s sole medical school, Armacost asks for her impressions of UND and how she’s thinking about her role.
Jenkins expresses her gratitude for the students, staff and faculty who have welcomed her to campus, saying they all inspire her to be a better leader.
Jenkins also talks about her personal background and previous roles, as well as the conversation that led her to consider the deanship at the School of Medicine & Health Sciences.
Armacost acknowledges the timing of this week’s message ahead of Memorial Day and invites the community to attend a ceremony at the Hyslop at Memorial Village starting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22. The event will feature a dedication for a new World War I memorial on campus.
