President Armacost and Jacob Warren talk about state and national roles of UND’s Center for Rural Health
President Andrew Armacost visits Jacob Warren at UND’s Center for Rural Health in this week’s video address.
Warren became director of the Center for Rural Health in December and recently made the move to Grand Forks. He previously helped lead similar centers in Wyoming and Georgia before coming to UND.
A behavioral epidemiologist by training, Warren talks to Armacost about his background, his impressions of UND and how the Center for Rural Health serves both the state and nation.
Warren says the Center serves every county of North Dakota, administering some 20 programs that help a total of 60 hospitals and 40 clinics. The Center also reaches all 50 states through its federal centers, which include the National Resource Center on Native American Aging and the official federal clearinghouse for all rural health information: the Rural Health Information Hub.
In addition, Warren answers Armacost’s questions about other functions of the Center, including workforce development and the future of AI when it comes to innovating health care.
More information on the Center for Rural Health can be found on its website, and Warren welcomes those with further questions to email him at jacob.c.warren@UND.edu.
With commencement ceremonies underway, Armacost closes with his congratulations to all graduating students and gratitude for the people who supported them in achieving their degrees.
