Author’s note: This story is the first in a five-part series covering each core value as it relates to an aspect of the UND LEADS Insights Dashboard.

The new UND LEADS Insights Dashboard makes it easier to see the University’s strategic plan in action. Launched in August 2026, the dashboard gives UND students, faculty, staff and departments the opportunity to submit UND LEADS-related activities and view projects similar to their own.

The most fundamental function of the Insights Dashboard is its ability to help users understand what strategic plan implementation looks like through campus activities and initiatives. That understanding, in its most basic form, is captured by the dashboard’s activity inventory table.

The activity inventory table brings UND LEADS to life by showing how its core values and strategic priorities are being put into practice across campus. Users can search and filter activities, creating a straightforward way to view related efforts, identify connections and see the breadth of work underway across UND.

While viewing the activity inventory table, consider whether items of interest might already appear. Has anything from your department been submitted? What items in the table speak to a given core value or strategic priority? Explore the table to see what is already in the inventory and identify work you or your colleagues are involved in that should be added.

The activity inventory table tracks the strategic plan’s progress using information submitted by the UND community. When submitting activities, users should consider which core values are reflected in the submission. For example, a mentoring program may be classified as a “Learning” activity because it “expands individualized advising and mentoring.” Or it may be classified as “Affinity” because it cultivates a “welcoming, safe, healthy, and inclusive campus environment.” Perhaps it qualifies as both. Activities can fall under one or more core values if they include multiple strategic priorities.

Contributing activities to the UND LEADS Insights Dashboard is one way to ensure your work is recognized for its contribution to collective efforts to bring UND LEADS to life. Staying up to date with the Insights Dashboard also gives members of the UND community a chance to find others with similar goals or ideas.

Visit the UND LEADS website for more information about the strategic plan, and stay tuned for next month’s story about the Insights Dashboard.
