We would like to remind you of the importance of using the correct code when grading a student with an F. Incorrect coding of an F grade can lead to student financial aid being taken away from a student when it should not be. Here are the different codes and explanations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>F:<\/strong> These students attend class all semester and sit for the final, just didn\u2019t pass the course due to not grasping the course objectives\/content.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FN:<\/strong> If a student falls into any of the examples, they are an FN and we need a date that they last participated. Logging in is NOT considered active participation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00b7 Physically attending a class where there is an opportunity for direct interaction between the instructor and students. (<strong>FN<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Student submission of an exam or academic assignment (<strong>FN<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Documented student participation in an interactive tutorial or computer-assisted instruction (FN)<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 A posting by the student showing the student\u2019s participation in an online study group that is assigned by the institution. (<strong>FN<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 A posting by the student in a discussion forum showing the student\u2019s participation in an online discussion about academic matters. (<strong>FN<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 An e-mail from the student or other documentation showing that the student-initiated contact with a faculty member to ask a question about the academic subject studied in the course. Please note this does not include questions regarding technical issues, i.e. how to access the course material in Blackboard. (<strong>FN<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Logging into an online class without active participation is <strong>NOT<\/strong> considered attendance (if the students only \u201cactivity\u201d was logging in. The student would be an <strong>FNN<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>FNN:<\/strong> If the student doesn\u2019t meet any of the examples above, it would be an <strong>FNN<\/strong>. (Ex.
