UIT launched the new UND Directory<\/a>\u00a0on April 24, 2026. It included many back-end enhancements that are critical to\u00a0maintaining\u00a0the Directory including code fixes, accessibility, security, automated error tracking, and performance improvements.<\/p>\n

Marketing & Communications has been actively working with UIT to identify and resolve bugs, formatting issues, and functionality concerns.<\/p>\n

Review Your Directory Profile<\/h2>\n

The UND Directory is the second most visited page on the UND website. Faculty and staff are encouraged to review their Directory profile to ensure their information is accurate and displaying as expected.<\/p>\n

Changes were made during the transition that may have affected your profile information.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Alternative titles<\/strong>\u00a0can no longer be edited in the Directory at Human Resources\u2019 request. Follow the instructions on the\u00a0Directory Instructions<\/a>\u00a0page to request an update to your title.<\/li>\n
  2. Alternative email<\/strong>\u00a0was removed to align with UND\u2019s email policy, which requires employees to use their UND.eduemail account for all University\u00a0business.<\/li>\n
  3. Mailing address<\/strong>\u00a0was removed because employees were adding non-mailing information in that field or duplicating their official PeopleSoft address that automatically displays.<\/li>\n
  4. Private profile<\/strong>\u00a0functionality was reset in the transition.\u00a0A small number of individuals previously\u00a0requested\u00a0that their Directory profiles be hidden for privacy reasons. Because there was no record of those requests, profiles were re-enabled during the transition.\u00a0If you would like your profile hidden, please submit a ticket to UIT.\u00a0Profiles can either be fully visible or fully hidden.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Information for Web Content Editors<\/h2>\n

    Auto People Listing Snippets Transitioning to Components<\/h3>\n

    The biggest change for web content\u00a0editors is that Auto by Dept and Auto by IDM people\u00a0listing snippets will transition to components. Manual\u00a0people\u00a0snippets will remain unchanged.<\/p>\n

    UIT will convert the approximately 350 existing auto people snippets to components on your behalf.\u00a0UIT plans to transition one site on June 8, 2026. If successful, the remaining snippets will be transitioned on June 14, 2026.<\/p>\n

    Prior to the transition,\u00a0those with access to the CMS\u00a0must:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Check in\/unlock all pages that\u00a0contain\u00a0the auto people snippet.<\/li>\n
    2. Publish any pages with saved but unpublished pages.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Failure to do these two things will mean your snippets will not be converted automatically. You must manually transition any remaining auto\u00a0people\u00a0snippets before they are officially retired on\u00a0June 30, 2026.\u00a0All content will be lost if you have an auto or IDM people snippet that\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0converted.<\/p>\n

      GTAs<\/h3>\n

      GTAs have been added to the Directory and are now available as\u00a0an option\u00a0in\u00a0the new\u00a0component. If you would like to display GTAs on your page (using content pulled from the Directory), you will need to select that\u00a0option\u00a0once snippets have been transitioned to components.<\/p>\n

      Many departments currently\u00a0maintain\u00a0manual GTA lists on their websites, so please review your site to ensure there is no duplicate content.<\/p>\n

      Component Instructions<\/h3>\n
