Go GREEN With Exercise!
Research proves that bikes can help lower our carbon emissions and making a difference might not be as difficult as we think. Bikes are one of the lowest carbon-emitting modes of transportation.
Most people commute less than 10 miles to work, and nearly half of all car trips are less than 3 miles! These are reasonable distances to bike. The average speed a person rides their bike is around 10 mph. SO- a 3-mile commute means ONLY 18 minutes on the bike!
According to a study conducted in 2021, if 10% of the population were to replace one car trip a day with a bike ride, overall carbon emissions from transportation would drop an equal 10%.
DON'T FORGET: Riding your bike, or rollerblading, TO or AT work = 10 BONUS POINTS!

Bike For Your Health
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), getting regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health! It can help control weight, reduce the risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease, cancer, obesity, and diabetes), and improve your mental health. It is recommended to achieve a minimum of 150 minutes a week of physical activity.
That's where biking comes in! Biking is a simple way to help reach the CDC's goal of at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week. It's easy on the joints and environmentally friendly! Challenge a co-worker or your department to get those wheels moving!
