Center for Innovation receives $100,000 federal grant to spur innovation and entrepreneurship

The Center for Innovation at UND has received a $100,000 grant to spur innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development.

The grant will establish the University Center for Autonomous Systems Innovation.  It is funded by the Economic Development Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Matching funds of $100,000 have been made available by the North Dakota Department of Commerce.

The grant will fund the first year of a five-year University Center program, which will provide technical assistance and applied research to help increase productivity, spur innovation and entrepreneurship, and increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification. It is expected to help communities capitalize on economic development opportunities.

The University Center program is a competitively-based partnership between the Economic Development Administration and academic institutions which makes university resources available to economic development practitioners.
