Search committee named for associate vice president for human resources

Jed Shivers, vice president for finance and operations/chief operating officer, has appointed Cara Halgren, vice president for student affairs and diversity, to serve as the chair of the search committee to fill the position of associate vice president for human resources.

The position of director of human resources was most recently held by Pat Hanson, who took a position at North Dakota State University in October 2018. Peggy Varberg, who was named  interim director, will serve in this capacity until the associate vice president for human resources position is filled.

The search committee comprises Trish Muir (Human Resources & Payroll Services), Eric Plummer (Public Safety), Jean Altepeter (Staff Personnel Advisory Committee/School of Medicine & Health Sciences), Jeff VanLooy (University Senate/Earth System Science & Policy), Cindy Juntunen (deans/College of Education & Human Development), Madhavi Marasinghe (University Information Technology), Chris Zygarlicke (EERC), and Heather Wages (Office of the Provost).

Kenny Daugherty, president of Myers McRae Executive Search and Consulting, is assisting with the national search. Administrative support is provided by Jen Rogers (Office of the Vice President for Finance & Operations).
