Campus and community forums set for UND presidential candidates

Six candidates will visit the UND campus Nov. 12-21 to interview for the position of President. Forums have been scheduled for students, faculty, staff, and the campus and community for each candidate.

The Presidential Search Committee will meet Friday, Nov. 22, to select at least three finalists to forward to the State Board of Higher Education. Those finalists will meet with the Board on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and UND’s new president is expected to be named that day.

A total of 61 applications were received for the position. The UND Presidential Search Committee interviewed 11 candidates earlier and narrowed the field to six candidates.

Former UND President Mark Kennedy resigned from the position in April, after he was named President of the University of Colorado System. Dr. Joshua Wynne, vice president for health affairs and dean of the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences, is serving as interim president.
