UND hosts annual North Dakota Clothesline Project and Take Back the Night Rally

UND will hold its annual North Dakota Clothesline Project from Oct. 14-24. The Take Back the Night Rally was held Oct. 20.

The North Dakota Clothesline Project is a visual display dedicated to raising awareness about the reality of violence in our community and throughout North Dakota. It is composed of t-shirts created by survivors of violence, or in honor of someone who has experienced violence. Each t-shirt reflects the personal experience of its creator and the colors signify different types of violence. The link will be available here.

In conjunction with the Clothesline Project, the Take Back the Night Rally raises awareness of violence in the community and encourages students, faculty, and staff to take action steps to prevent violence from occurring. This year, the Take Back the Night Rally featured two keynote speakers along with the presentation of the annual Peacemaker Award, followed by a call to action. The program launched on YouTube at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.
