Policies posted for campus comment

A number of documents have been posted to the policy office website for notification of campus comment. Additional information and links to individual policies are available below.

Policies Open for Comment

Policies open to comment may be reviewed and commented on by going directly to the Policy Comment Periods & Approvals webpage. The final policy documents will take into consideration feedback received during the campus-wide comment period. Comments are due Oct. 22 for the following:

  • Refunds – revised
    • In response to the Attorney General’s opinion issued Oct. 21, 1964, UND adopted a refund policy to address refunds originating from current and prior fiscal years.
  • Title IX Sexual Misconduct – revised
    • UND is dedicated to providing a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living and working environment for all members of the University community. The University adopts this policy with a commitment to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 by responding promptly and supportively to people alleged to be victimized by sexual misconduct. UND also is committed to resolve allegations of sexual misconduct promptly and accurately under a predictably fair grievance process that provides due process protections to alleged victims and alleged perpetrators, and to effectively implement remedies for victims.
  • Responding to Reports of Title IX Sexual Misconduct Procedures – revised
    • UND uses this procedure to respond to reports of sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking, that occur within or in connection with a University program or activity and against a person in the United States. UND adopts this procedure with a commitment to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
  • Sexual Misconduct – new
    • UND is dedicated to providing a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living and working environment for all members of the University community. The University adopts this policy with a commitment to respond promptly and supportively to people alleged to be impacted by sexual misconduct. UND also is committed to resolve allegations of sexual misconduct promptly and accurately under a predictably fair grievance process that provides due process protections to alleged victims and alleged perpetrators, and effectively implement remedies for victims.
  • Responding to Reports of Sexual Misconduct Procedures – new
    • UND uses this procedure to respond to reports of sexual misconduct as defined in the Sexual Misconduct Policy.
  • Protections for Pregnant and Parenting Students and Employees – new
    • Pursuant to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, the University is committed to providing equal access to University-sponsored activities, including academics and employment, for pregnant and parenting students and employees.
  • Gender Inclusion – new
    • UND strives to ensure every member of the UND community is free from discrimination based upon their gender identity and/or gender expression and has equal access to UND-sponsored programs and activities.
  • Meals – new (compilation of all current meal policies)
    • As a public institution, the University must demonstrate the prudent use of funds entrusted to it by its various constituencies. The general public, legislators, students, donors, and granted organizations and individuals must be assured that funds are wisely spent and do not personally benefit University officials and employees. Furthermore, UND must adhere to North Dakota State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) policy 806.1 and North Dakota University System procedure 806.1 as they relate to the payment, reimbursement, or provision of meals.
