UND CSD 2025 Newsletter
Greetings from CSD at University of North Dakota
Dear UND Alumni and Friends of Communication Sciences & Disorders,
I’m delighted to welcome you to our first newsletter in quite some time! We have been busy in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders, and we’re thrilled to reconnect and share some highlights with you.
One of the most exciting developments this past year was the return of American Sign Language (ASL) courses to our curriculum. There are also whispers of a potential move out of Columbia Hall—stay tuned for more details as plans evolve!
In May, we proudly celebrated the graduation of 23 undergraduate students and 19 graduate students. These remarkable individuals continue to inspire us with their passion, resilience, and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Their work truly reflects the best of who we are as a department.
Looking Forward

We are excited to welcome 23 new students to the Graduate Class of 2027. As we look ahead, we’re eager to reconnect with you—our valued alumni. We’re currently seeking alumni stories to feature in our next newsletter. Whether you’re working in the field, pursuing new passions, or making an impact in your community, we’d love to hear from you!
Thank you for being an important part of the UND CSD family.
With gratitude,
Sarah Robinson, Chair

Faculty NewsAfter a remarkable career spanning nearly three decades, Jody Paulson retired from the University of North Dakota in May 2025. She has made an indelible mark on students, colleagues, and countless clients. |
Alumni NewsWhen Dr. Andrea Wilson reflects on her career path, she jokes that she must have tried every major university in the Midwest. But in reality, Andrea’s journey is one of exceptional dedication to serving rural communities—a mission fueled by her rare dual certification as both an audiologist and a speech-language pathologist (SLP). |

CSD Students Collaborate in “Baby Lab”Students from the Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy programs recently came together for a unique interdisciplinary learning opportunity known as Baby Lab. This hands-on experience welcomed local families and their infants, ages 0–24 months, to participate in a collaborative developmental assessment. |
