As we move into August, it’s hard to believe that 2024 has already passed the halfway point. This time of year we take a moment to reflect on the year so far, and set our sights on where we plan to go during the remainder of the year. Our network is continuously assessing goals, achievements, and our forward-facing strategy. We’re pleased to present our 2024 Year-to-Date impacts.

Through the end of calendar quarter 2, our ND SBDC service centers have assisted 1,199 unique clients, assisted with securing $30,830,542 in capital invested into these small businesses, and supported the launch of 72 new businesses in our state. Additionally, we’ve engaged 427 attendees in various training workshops.

Each year, network leadership, in collaboration with our major funding partners (US Small Business Administration, the Bank of North Dakota, and the University of North Dakota) sets targets. In 2024, we have four targets: unique clients served, new businesses started, capital, and rural businesses served. The persistence of our clients and the hard work being done each day by service center staff has resulted in these goals being surpassed, or at 90% to the target already!

These achievements are paving the way for what looks to be another potential record-setting year. We’re eager to see how these small businesses will contribute to economic growth, create job opportunities, and drive innovation in our communities.
