Big Idea Challenge (Fall 2021)

Presented by the Jodsaas Center and Center of Innovation

Next-Generation Green Solutions for a Sustainable Future

Students are challenged to come with novel solutions for tackling energy and environmental issues. For example, green energy, smart grids driven by AI, clean coal, sustainable cements and pavements, and more (you tell us!!!).

Idea Submission Deadline: October 22, 2021

Submit a 1-page proposal, rough drawing, or “out of box design” to surojit.gupta@engr.und.edu.

 

Selected students will complete design thinking and business model training by Dr. Whitney at the Center for Innovation and Dr. Surojit Gupta from Mechanical Engineering.

 

Idea Pitch Award Competition: Week of December 1, 2021

 

The Big Idea Challenge is a monthly student competition to generate novel ideas and innovative ways of solving important problems. Hosted by the College of Engineering & Mines, the competition is open to all UND students. Students may work in teams and are strongly encouraged to collaborate across multiple disciplines. The Big Idea Challenge is sponsored by the College of Engineering & Mines, the Jodsaas Center for Engineering Leadership and Entrepreneurship, and the Edson and Margaret Larson Foundation.
