March is Women’s History Month in respect of International Women’s Day on March 8th. The theme this year is Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories . In honor of that, the reading recommendation list includes books that feature women across cultures, ages, and time periods.
Happy Black History Month! First officially recognized in 1976, Black History Month is a time to honor the legacies of African-Americans across United States history and society. Today marks two years of reading recommendations from the Chester Fritz Library.
January is probably my least favorite month. It’s still dark and cold. Spring is a distant dream and the excitement of the holiday season is done. I always feel like I need a little extra help. The recommendations this month are focused on ways that we can help ourselves.

With the end of the semester approaching quickly, finals are right around the corner and that means winter break will be here soon. In just a few weeks, you may find yourself with more time for hobbies, such as reading. On August 3rd, 1990 the month of November was declared to Native American Heritage Month. Here are 12 recommended books and a few movies to help honor Native American Heritage Month.
