The University of North Dakota celebrated dedication and excellence at its annual Staff Recognition Luncheon on May 13, hosted by the Office of Human Resources in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Among the highlights of the event were the presentation of 11 Meritorious Service Awards—each honoring individuals who exemplify UND’s core values through their performance, relationships, and unwavering commitment to the University’s mission.

One of this year’s distinguished recipients was Barb Anderson, Director of the Recruitment & Retention of American Indians into Nursing (RAIN) Program at the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines.

With an incredible 40 years of service at UND, Barb has been a mentor and advocate for American Indian students in the field of nursing. The RAIN Program has become a national model for student support and cultural inclusion, empowering generations of nurses and strengthening healthcare in Native communities.

Congratulations to all the outstanding staff recognized at UND’s 2025 Staff Recognition Luncheon! In addition to Meritorious Service Awards, staff members included milestone recipients. The full list of milestone honorees is available to read in University Letter.
