Congratulations!
- Dr. Jennifer Schlinger and Dr. Deborah Worley (UND CEHD) published a book chapter, “Teaching About Trauma: Theories, Models, and Practice” in the book “Trauma-Informed Practice in Higher Education”.
- Dr. Steve Cooper was recently appointed as a member of the Council of Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Council on Publications (COP). The appointment is for a three-year term, and is a testament to expertise and dedication to social work education and the profession. The work of the COP is critically important to maintaining a high-quality publications program that speaks for all of social work education. The COP sets the policies governing CSWE publications and ensures that they meet quality indicators and serve the needs of the academic community. COP members review book proposals and also advise the Journal of Social Work Education (JSWE) editor-in-chief and JSWE Editorial Advisory Board.
- Dr. June-Yung Kim, and co-authors, published Adverse Childhood Experiences and Flourishing Among Emerging Adult College Students: Religious Beliefs/Spirituality and Social Support as Research Domain Criteria (RDoC)-Informed Mechanisms in the Journal of Adult Development.
- The annual Field Instructor Training was held June 16, bringing together nearly 70 field instructors and other professionals from across the nation. Jennifer Schlinger, alongside several UND alums, presented various topics relevant to supporting UND social work students during their field education. UND alumni include: Mandy Lundby, Lindsay Bell, Shelby Hysjulien, and Liz Kunkel.
- Dr. Steve Cooper was elected to serve a three-year term as vice president of the Board of Directors for the North Dakota Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-ND), with his term beginning July 1. In addition, two social work students were elected to one-year terms as student representatives on the board: Charlotte Hooge as the BSW Student Representative and Sarah Galbraith as the MSW Student Representative.
