Shout Out to CNPD Faculty & Staff Involved in Governor’s School!
A big thank you to the CNPD faculty and staff who supported the North Dakota Governor’s School activities at UND this summer! Your leadership, expertise, and enthusiasm provided high school students from across the state with an engaging glimpse into careers in health sciences, social work, nutrition, and nursing.

Congratulations!
- Dr. Danielle Villano recently participated as a presenter at the 12th annual Scrubs Academy. Hosted by the Center for Rural Health, the Scrubs Academy introduces middle school students to health careers.
- Dr. Jennifer Schlinger hosted and presented at the Social Work Field Instructor Training on June 10. There were 77 attendees from 10 states. The topics covered provided important information to help the Field Instructors successfully support our BSSW and MSW students during their Field Education.
- Dr. Jana Zwilling presented on behalf of the North Dakota Nursing Research Collaborative (NDNRC) recently at the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers annual conference in Philadelphia. The NDNRC project investigated nursing workforce and retention in North Dakota. The presentation was highly attended and well received, with special interest by other states with similar concerns and rural populations. The project was funded by the Economic Development Research Fund (EDRF).
- UND Nursing alum Dr. Jaci Reep-Jarmin and Dr. Rhoda Owens presented on NDNRC Nursing Workforce Study results at the Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health.
