Nistler Faculty Recognized in UND Early Career Scholars Program
The Nistler College of Business & Public Administration is proud to celebrate Dr. Young Jae (Jay) Choi, Dr. Hyuksoon Lim, and Dr. Chih Ming Tan on their recognition at the University of North Dakota’s Early Career Scholars Program Awards event on February 12, 2026.
Dr. Choi and Dr. Lim have been selected to participate in the UND Early Career Scholars Program (ECSP), marking the first time a team from Nistler College has been accepted into the program. Dr. Tan will serve as a senior faculty mentor to the team.
As part of the program, Dr. Choi and Dr. Lim will collaborate with Dr. Jordan Christian from Atmospheric Science on a research project titled “Extreme Climate Events and Retail Investor Behavior.” The interdisciplinary study will examine how significant climate events influence retail investor decision-making, bringing together expertise from business and atmospheric science.
The UND Early Career Scholars Program supports pre-tenure faculty and researchers transitioning from Ph.D. and postdoctoral roles by providing mentorship and funding to help develop competitive research initiatives. The program is designed to strengthen research capacity and foster collaboration across disciplines.
We are incredibly proud of Drs. Choi, Lim, and Tan for this achievement and look forward to the impact of their research. Congratulations to the team on this exciting milestone.
