College BoUND Newsletter

Informational newsletter from the UND Office of Admissions

To the parents of the Class of 2020

You’ve worked so hard to get to this point. This is the time when you should be celebrating with friends and family while your child enjoys the last few moments of high school. I get it. I have three daughters and this isn’t how we thought we’d be closing out the school year.

It’s supposed to be a time for joy, and no one deserves this heavy cloud that’s hanging over us. One parent summed up the memories this way:

“We were ready to celebrate 13 years of first days of school, buying supplies, teacher conferences, signed papers, packing lunches, paid fees, homework, test stress, failing, passing, thriving, surviving, navigating friend groups, making the team, not making the team, finding the right outfit, and college applications.”

Yes, it’s been a long haul. And though these days are extra bittersweet, remember this: WE MADE IT!

Read a fellow parent’s encouraging words to help ease your disappointment and frustration and to remember that you are not alone.

We understand that you have an important and difficult decision to make. During this time of uncertainty, we want to your commitment to UND to be as easy as possible. I want you to know that UND is here to help you make that decision. We hope to celebrate with you this fall when your child starts a new chapter in their lives. In the meantime, we are cheering you on, so let us know how we can help.
