Prepare for FAFSA by Creating Your FSA Account

With the FAFSA for the 2024-25 school year projected to be available in December 2023, a few months later than the usual October opening, we encourage students to get a jump on completing a few specific steps to be able to submit the FAFSA by the February 1 priority deadline.

To submit their FAFSA, students and a parent must first create an account and acquire their Federal Student Aid ID. To do so, students must go to studentaid.gov and follow the steps to create an account. Creating an account beforehand will ensure a smoother process when completing the 2024-25 FAFSA.
