Full slate of April events scheduled for INMED’s 50th anniversary

In honor of its landmark 50th anniversary in 2023, the UND Indians Into Medicine (INMED) program is hosting a series of events this calendar year. April is an especially busy month, with events occurring in Grand Forks, N.D., and Minneapolis, Minn. Scheduling its local events around UND’s annual Time Out Wacipi Powwow on April 21-22, INMED welcomes the greater UND and Grand Forks communities to the following:

  • April 18: Craft Night with Brittany – Join INMED at the North Dakota Museum of Art and try your hand at traditional beading methods, as well as medicine pouch sewing. Supplies and refreshments will be provided.
  • April 19: Indigenous Teachings for Living Well – This event, “The Seven Circles: Indigenous Teachings for Living Well,” features a book signing, discussion, and reading by Chelsey Luger at the UND Memorial Union’s fireplace.
  • April 20: Graduate Recognition – This event, held on the second floor of the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences building in Grand Forks, celebrates 50 years of Indigenous healthcare graduates and the great work INMED continues to do to support students.
  • April 21-22: Indigenous Health Science Resource Fair – Join INMED for an Indigenous Health Science Resource Fair on the second floor of the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks. This event allows participants to visit with public, laboratory, clinical, and social health science programs to learn about admissions, jobs, and more!
