Fix Your (Website) Content Day @UND on Nov. 10

Small improvements can make a big difference in accessibility. And what better way to kick off our accessibility series than with Blackboard Ally’s “Fix Your Content Day” 2026?

Fix Your Content Day is a 24-hour global competition taking place on Nov. 10 where institutions compete to make the most accessibility improvements to content within their Blackboard course and/or organization websites (as measured by Blackboard Ally).

UND is excited to participate again this year, and we hope you’ll join us in this day dedicated to digital accessibility! While the competition is fun, it is also an opportunity for you to take a closer look at your content, identify potential accessibility barriers, and make significant improvements.

Accessibility checkers: A place to start

While Fix Your Content Day focuses on improvements identified through Blackboard Ally, accessibility checkers are NOT limited to content in Blackboard. Many programs you already use have built-in accessibility checkers that can help you identify potential barriers in your content. Find your accessibility checker, run a check, and see what issues it identifies. Checkers are a great place to start!

Keep in mind that accessibility checkers are automated tools that can make mistakes. If you have questions about a document, please submit an accessibility ticket with UND’s Teaching Transformation and Development Academy (TTADA). For legislation and compliance questions, contact the Civil Rights & Title IX Office.

In preparation for Fix Your Content Day, TTADA has several training sessions scheduled. Whether you’re participating in the competition or simply looking to improve the accessibility of your digital content, we encourage you to join us!
