Rebecca Caillier to discuss normal pressure hydrocephalus at Neurology Grand Rounds on July 20

For the next Neurology Grand Rounds, from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, Rebecca Caillier, M.D., will give a presentation on normal pressure hydrocephalus. The meeting will be held in person at the Brain & Spine Clinic, 2301 25th St. S. in Fargo, Conf. Rm 1 and Conf. Rm. SMCF1A2-5D, and via Webex (Meeting no./access code: 185 265 6391  |  Password: jN7cBPmXv93).

Key Point(s):

  • Normal pressure hydrocephalus is a potentially treatable cause of gait disturbance in cognitive decline.
  • Positive response to lumbar drainage or repeated lumbar punctures increase the likelihood of responding to VP shunting.
  • Because of risk of adverse events with VP shunting, risks and benefits of treatment need to be carefully weighed.
