Internal Medicine Grand Rounds to focus on the history of racism in medicine April 17

The next UND Department of Internal Medicine Grand Rounds event, “A Brief History of Racism in Medicine & Current Health Disparities,” will be broadcast via Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.

This presentation features guest speaker Nneka Sederstrom, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.A., chief health equity officer at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minn.

Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:

  1. Recognize the foundations of racism within healthcare that created disparities.
  2. Apply skills around addressing inequities through historical context.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge on empathic medicine.
