Arpit Heer to discuss antipsychotics and extrapyramidal side effects at Psychiatry Grand Rounds on May 15

For the next Psychiatry Grand Rounds, from 12:10 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, Arpit Heer, M.D., will present “A Review of Antipsychotics Related Extrapyramidal Side Effects.” This broadcast will be held via Zoom/video conferencing. Dr. Heer is a third-year resident in the UND Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Kenneth Troxclair, D.O., is psychiatrist at Prairie St. Johns in Fargo, N.D., and will serve as Dr. Heer’s discussant.

Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Familiarize themselves with the pathogenesis and underlying mechanisms of extrapyramidal symptoms.
  • Recognize how to diagnose and differentiate between different types of extrapyramidal symptoms.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the best available treatments for different types of extrapyramidal symptoms.

This Grand Rounds presentation, sponsored by the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences and the School’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, is broadcast via video conference to many sites throughout North Dakota and Minnesota and is also streamed via personal computers.
