UND to host 21st annual Big Event on May 3
UND is hosting the 21st annual Big Event on Saturday, May 3, in Grand Forks, and organizers are looking for student volunteers.
At UND’s premier community service event, students go to one or more parks or houses in Grand Forks to complete a variety of outdoor tasks, including raking leaves, painting fences, washing windows, and more.
“Right now, we are aiming to have over 700 student and faculty volunteers,” said Emmalia Frei, co-director of The Big Event committee and student in the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences Department of Physical Therapy. “Student volunteers will receive a free ‘do work’ t-shirt, as well as a snack bag.”
Volunteers can register for The Big Event online and can expect to be helping out in the community for three or four hours.
Registration closes on April 26, meaning any sign-up after that date will need to be done at 9:30 a.m. on May 3 outside of UND’s Wellness Center.
