SMHS Library Resources to host ‘Have you looked behind the curtain?’ seminar virtually on April 15

From noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, SMHS Library Resources will host a seminar entitled “Have you looked behind the curtain?: What your search tools are not showing you.”

In this seminar, participants will learn from SMHS librarians how information systems such as search engines and “artificial intelligence” impact our access to information daily, as well as how algorithms affect academic research processes and outputs. We will discuss the impacts of current information systems on student information literacy, consumer health information, and researcher use of AI-enabled tools.
