Host-Pathogen group invites applications for voucher program
The Center for Host-Pathogen Interactions (HPI) at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences invites applications for its Core Voucher Program, designed to help faculty generate preliminary data for NIH and other grant submissions. Vouchers of $5,000 to $8,000 can be used for services at HPI-supported cores, including histology, imaging, flow cytometry, and computational analysis. Approximately 10 awards will be given, with applications due by Dec. 15, 2025. Eligible applicants are UND faculty at or above Research Assistant Professor rank. Awards cover core services only and require a brief two-page application outlining project objectives and budget.

Vouchers may be redeemed at any of the following HPI-supported cores:
- Histology Core (HC) – Tissue processing and staining
- Imaging Core (IC) – Advanced microscopy and imaging analysis
- ND Flow Cytometry & Cell Sorting Core (ND FCCS) – Cell phenotyping and sorting
- Computational Data Analysis Core (CDAC) – Bioinformatics and data analytics
Application details: Maximum 2 pages, typeface Arial ≥11 pt, 0.5-inch margins:
- Project Description (≤1 page): Summarize research objectives and specify how core services will be used. Indicate the grant mechanism for which preliminary data will be applied.
- Budget (≤1 page): Detail requested funds per core and planned analyses. Applicants with questions about current core service fees or those needing assistance in determining their budget are strongly encouraged to consult with each core they plan to use.
