Phase 1 medical students recognize three faculty for Outstanding Unit Instructor Awards

In recognition of outstanding performance in the encouragement, enrichment, and education of tomorrow’s physicians, the medical student Class of 2029 has recognized three faculty for Outstanding Unit Instructor Awards in Unit V of the 2025-26 academic year.

The Class of 2029 (Phase 1) Unit V awardees are the following individuals:

• Sarmad Al-Marsoummi, Ph.D., Department of Pathology, Assistant Dean for Phase 1
• Kumi Nagamoto-Combs, Ph.D., Department of Biomedical Sciences
• Ken Ruit, Ph.D., Department of Biomedical Sciences, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
