NDBIN to offer Certified Brain Injury Specialist training
The North Dakota Brain Injury Network (NDBIN), a program within the UND Center for Rural Health, is offering Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) training on Nov. 2 and 3, 2023. Register now to become a Certified Brain Injury Specialist or to receive a Provisional CBIS (PCBIS) certification either in-person at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks or virtually.
CBIS Certification: CBIS certification is developed and administered through the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA). Review the list of requirements and eligibility to see if you qualify.
Cost: Certification cost depends on the number of individuals attending training. Participants will have access to the NDBIN study portal, the exam, and a one-year subscription to the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. Cost of the optional digital textbook (Essential Brain Injury Guide) is $75. Groups rates are as follows:
- Group of 30+ Applicants: $225
- Group of 5-29 Applicants: $250
- Provisional Applicant: $150
PCBIS provides in-depth training for those who intend to develop a career working with individuals who have sustained a brain injury. With a PCBIS, individuals have the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in the field of brain injury rehabilitation and services. Read more about the process. The cost for the PCBIS is $150 for certification to BIAA; an optional electronic textbook is recommended for $75.
