Comparing Drug Resources

The healthcare field and pharmaceuticals go hand in hand whether you’re prescribing medications or simply need to know about the medications your patients are taking. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be challenging to locate consistent evidence-based information about the variety of drugs available. In addition, many patients are using supplements which could interact with their medications. With these things in mind, we are hosting a virtual presentation to demonstrate some tools available to UND SMHS affiliates (faculty, students, volunteer faculty, residents, etc.) that will help you better understand and prescribe medications for your patients.

Register now to join librarians on Friday, April 24^th at noon to learn the following:

• Learn about various SMHS resources and others on drug references
• Locate patient education handouts within different drug resources
• Interact with various resources in an active learning session

Librarians will demonstrate the resources available, and participants are encouraged to actively use these during the presentation. Resources covered will include:

• NatMed Pro
• Medline Plus
• Lexidrug
