Open Access 101 and Transformative Agreements

Our clinical campus libraries are leading a workshop on key open access scholarship concepts and discuss transformative agreements to help with publishing costs on Feb. 6. The session will also cover how recent public access mandates affect researchers.

Open Access publishing combines immediate online access to scholarly works with the appropriate scholarly citation and credit. It is the free, immediate, online availability of research articles combined with the rights to use them in a digital environment. Most often, “open access” refers to journal articles, textbooks, or class content that anyone can access from anywhere. In other words, it isn’t kept behind a paywall, anyone can download it for free. However, making your work open access usually involves fees the authors must pay.

Learn about open access publishing options and how to navigate costs and recent mandates when the we present “Open Access 101 and Transformative Agreements” on Friday, Feb. 6 at 12 p.m. CST.

Register ahead of time or join Zoom on Friday Feb. 6 at noon.
