WEBCAST: Space Law in The Era of Globalization

The National Center for Remote Sensing, Air, and Space Law and The JOURNAL
OF SPACE LAW at The University of Mississippi School of Law presents

Space Law in The Era of Globalization

Thursday, January 18, 2007

9:00 am – 3:00 pm CST

Webcast via http://www.spacelaw.olemiss.edu/

(A webcast session will run for the entire event in the Space Studies Reading Room.)

The purpose of the event is to have a focused, frank, informed, and,
hopefully enlightening, discussion about space law. The nominal starting
point for the discussion will be some of the points raised in “Space Law:
Its Cold War Origins and Challenges in the Era of Globalization” 37 Suffolk
U.L. Rev. 1041 (2004).

In addition to questions and subjects prepared by the moderator, the
panelists have submitted topics or materials that they would like to have
raised. They have been compiled and will be included into the discussion.
The event will be web cast and recorded for later transcription.

It is anticipated that some of the topics raised will include:

Efficacy of the current treaty regime;

The U.S. national space policy;

Newly emerging space faring nations;

Legal aspects of the Space Exploration Initiative;

Space tourism;

Peaceful uses of outer space; and

Earth observation data access policies.
