Lunar Rover research and design begins

Continuing the work on Pablo de León’s NASA EPSCoR grant, “Strategies for the Human Exploration of the Moon and Mars,” a group of students and faculty at UND are building a Lunar Rover with the help of Cirrus Aircraft. Cirrus is providing materials, expertise and work space. Three UND students have been working all summer on the Lunar Rover. The rover will seat two people in nominal circumstances and four people in emergency mode. The rover is an electrically powered vehicle that will be used for planetary analog simulations.
