Cieszecki Receives Certificate of Excellence from Prime Minister of Canada

Jeff Cieszecki (SpSt MS ’04), a grade 7-12 teacher in Winnipeg and a graduate of the Space Studies Department at UND, was recently awarded a national Certificate of Excellence by the Prime Minister of Canada. Cieszecki was one of 17 teachers in Canada that were so honored by Stephen Harper at a recent ceremony in Ottawa. Of those 17, Cieszecki was one of 5 that received the  Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence in Space Studies. Cieszecki was recognized for “turning physics classes into a space academy by communicating with satellites and with rockets and high altitude balloon launches.” He is pictured here with Prime Minister Harper.
