Space Studies Department Welcomes New Faculty Member Michael Dodge
The Department of Space Studies is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Dodge, J.D., LL.M., to replace Dr. David Whalen on our full-time faculty. Mr. Dodge will begin on August 16th. We are happy to have his law expertise on faculty to teach courses in the field of space law, which will resume courses that may not have been taught in some time.
Michael obtained his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law (2008), and his LL.M. in Air & Space Law at McGill Faculty of Law in Montreal, Canada (2012). Mr. Dodge is formerly Research Counsel & Instructor in the LL.M. in Air & Space Law Program at the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he taught four courses in aviation, remote sensing, and space law (U.S. & International). He is also an Editor of the Journal of Space Law. His research interests include the environmental management of outer space, global navigation satellite systems, the concept of sovereignty and ownership rights in space, and the law and regulation of remote sensing technologies.
