UND Neutral Buoyancy Space Operations Facility

Space Studies’ next big adventure is one step closer to beginning.

The final beam of the Neutral Buoyancy Space Operations Facility has been installed! Stakeholders were invited to sign the beam. Included here are Dr. Keith Crisman’s “Doc C” signature and
Dr. de Leon’s, who signed via Bluetooth! The red shape is a Diver Down flag, and the Latin translates loosely as “To the stars through under water.”

Dr. Crisman was also interviewed about the Neutral Buoyancy Space Operations Facility by the Grand Forks Herald. The article, “Emerging complex will house facility to simulate low gravity” by Jordan Rusche, was published on April 11, 2026.
