OT/PT/SLP students donate food items to Meals on Wheels

The Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) recently facilitated a food drive and subsequent social event in which occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology students and faculty contributed non-perishable food items to Grand Forks Meals on Wheels. Over 600 food items were donated, which were subsequently packaged into bags during an ice cream social event. Overall, there was enough food for a total of 100 bags, enough to supply a bag to every individual who currently receives Meals on Wheels. Notes were also written to each individual receiving these meals to wish them wellness and warmth this spring. This was a great way to mingle between programs as well as grow in our social participation for the School. The food drive was a huge interdisciplinary success and the Meals on Wheels program is extremely grateful for our participation.
