A Message from Dean Pappas

Spring semester at UND Law is in full swing bringing with it enthusiastic students and an array of upcoming events to look forward to. We have been enjoying the sunshine and warmer than normal temperatures and can only hope an early spring is indeed coming.

Congratulations to Professor Alexandra Sickler on winning the American College of Consumer Financial Services’ Annual Writing Competition. We are extremely honored to have Professor Sickler as a member of our faculty and sharing her expertise with our students.

We are excited to host the 2024 Distinguished Jurist-in-Residence program with The Honorable Ralph R. Erickson and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals visiting the School of Law on February 29 and March 1. We invite you to join us for the public events including a special session of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and a reception hosted by the State Bar Association of North Dakota.

From all of us at UND School of Law, we thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and engagement. Please feel free to reach out at any time with questions, comments, concerns, and ideas.

Sincerely,
Brian

The Thormodsgard Law Library at the UND School of Law offers a rich array of resources and services tailored to the needs of students, faculty, and the wider public. Our library hosts a large collection of North Dakota, Minnesota, and national legal materials, both electronically and in print. Additionally, students and faculty have access to a wide range of legal research databases, like Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, and Bloomberg Law.

The Library offers alumni access to Hein Online, and patrons can access Westlaw, ProQuest, and many other subscription databases in-person at the library. We also offer a collection of legal self-help books for public patrons seeking to do their own legal work. Patrons who are not faculty, students, or staff at UND can check out books with a current library card from any library in North Dakota.

For more information on library services, visit our website.

If you cannot visit the library in person, we also offer reference services via email and telephone. You can contact us by calling the library at 701.777.2204 or by emailing one of our reference librarians: Jonathan Voigt at Jonathan.voigt@und.edu or David Haberman at David.haberman@und.edu.
