The University of North Dakota proudly celebrated its winter commencement ceremony for professional and graduate degrees on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center on the UND campus. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for students, families, faculty and staff as graduates were recognized for their academic achievements and dedication.

This winter, sixteen law students completed the required coursework to earn the Juris Doctor degree with seven participating in the formal commencement ceremony.

The ceremony was led by UND President Andrew Armacost, with remarks from representatives of the State Board of Higher Education and the UND Alumni Association and Foundation. The commencement address was delivered by distinguished alumna Jill Cholewa, a California-based graduate and longtime supporter of the University of North Dakota.

Interim Dean Bradley Myers presented the law candidates to President Armacost for the official conferring of degrees. Graduates then crossed the stage to receive the doctoral hood from Law Professors Blake Klinkner and Dan Lewerenz, followed by a diploma cover presented by President Armacost.

Following the ceremony, the School of Law hosted a celebratory brunch at the Law School for graduates and their guests, providing an opportunity to gather, reflect and celebrate this important achievement.
