UND Law Students and Faculty Honored at 2026 Leadership Awards
Annual ceremony recognizes outstanding student leaders, student organizations, and dedicated faculty advisors
The University of North Dakota celebrated student leadership and faculty mentorship during the 2026 Annual University of North Dakota Leadership Awards, held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in the Memorial Union Ballroom.
Among those recognized were several law students who received the Lilian Elsinga Outstanding Student Leader Award. This year’s recipients included Camila Almonacid, Umaima Anwar, Kellan Benson, Monica Birdbear, Lily Burnside, Jailene Carpio, Taylor House, Kaniah Jackson, Reed Johnson, Madison Schoenberg, Victoria Stutsky, and RJ Tare. The award honors students who have demonstrated exemplary leadership through campus involvement, volunteer work, and employment
In addition, Professor Michael McGinniss was recognized as an Outstanding Advisor for his work with the UND Law Federalist Society, highlighting his dedication to supporting student engagement and leadership development.
The annual event brings together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the achievements and contributions that strengthen the University of North Dakota community.
