Media Advisory: ‘Selling to the Government,’ a training and business development event, to take place in Bismarck on March 27

North Dakota 12th Annual Expo event will be co-sponsored by UND Center for Business Engagement & Development

The North Dakota APEX Accelerator, operating under the University of North Dakota (UND) Center for Business Engagement & Development along with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), are sponsoring the North Dakota 12th Annual Expo: “Selling to the Government.” The Expo will be an in-person event on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Raymond J. Bohn Armory in Bismarck.

“This marks the 12th year of North Dakota’s Expo, a training and matchmaking event for businesses interested in selling their goods or services to local, state, and federal government agencies,” says Dave Kleppe, North Dakota APEX Program Manager. “If you are interested in selling to the government market, this event will assist your business with getting started. It will also be beneficial and informative to those that might already be selling to government agencies because of the on-going changes to programs and regulations.”

The event is free and will feature workshops on topics such as using the No 1 federal contracting site, SAM.gov. Other sessions will discuss specific market exploration and finding opportunities with local, state and federal agencies. Plus, attendees can learn about trends in government requirements, have the chance to meet government purchasing representatives and prime contractors looking for subcontractors and suppliers, and check out resources for small businesses.

About APEX Accelerators: APEX Accelerators, formally known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP), was authorized by Congress in 1985 to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in government contracts. The FY2020 National Defense Authorization Act required the PTAP to move from the Defense Logistics Agency to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. The DoD Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) began to manage and operate PTAP with a new name, APEX Accelerators, effective FY2023. The APEX Accelerators program focuses on building a strong, sustainable, and resilient U.S. supply chain by assisting a wide range of businesses that pursue and perform under contracts with the DoD, other federal agencies, state, and local governments, and with government prime contractors. This APEX Accelerator is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense. State funding is provided by the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
